Linocut - A Set of 4 Rare Ainu Linocuts of Shikotsu-Toya National Park

Nestled among verdant forests, towering mountains and volcanic calderas, the Shikotsu-Toya National Park is an utopian idyll; a place so precious that you’ll want to keep returning. In the winter, there's even a vintage steam train that traverses the serene snowy landscape, offering tourists and locals a trip down memory lane.

Young Ainu printmakers have painstakingly created this linocut by hand carving contours and textures on a humble block of linoleum to simulate local scenery surrounding Lake Shikotusu. Japanese linocut tools require more skill to handle and are typically only used by advanced artists in the West.

Limited edition. Professionally framed and ready to hang.

Product Story
Hokkaido
